The fortification was built in the Middle Ages and was mentioned for the first time in a written document in 1064. From the 12th to 15th century Roč developed into an urban settlement. Until 20th century Roč was one of the most important Croatian literacy, printing and publishing centres-based on the oldest Croatian alphabet, called „glagoljica“. In Roč the first Croatian printed book Milas from 1483 was prepared for printing according Duke Novaks Missla from 1368, which has kept in Nugla at that time. RAILWAY STATION – PULA

ISTRIADUCTION  All Year | Working time: as per schedule | Ticket Railway station Pula build in 1876 was under the authority of Austria, Italy and Slovenia until 1991. when they are under the Croatia Railway. It was connected with local shipyard Uljanik in 1878., 1,3 km of railway. The traffic was significantly increase and in 1884. it was transported over 34t of cargo. Railway was very good connected with Trieste and Vienna. There was also a „green train“ to Slovenia. In 1904. Pula Railway Station was connected with city center with tram. SNAILS FESTIVAL – FESTA DELLE CIOCHE – FEŠTA OD PUŽI IN GALIŽANA

ISTRIADUCTION  In August | Working time: All day| Free Entrance Snails Festival - Festa delle cioche - Fešta od puži is hold every year in mid-august (15.08.). Traditional festival of the snail is place where you can taste various snail specialties. Due to the highly prized meat snails dishes are considered a delicacy. Snails are prepared according to traditional recipes. During the day you have in the city a lot of things from photo exhibitions, different performance, race on ball bearing vehicle, bike tour, music, etc... One of traditional main event is as local call it “zamašćeni stup” , definitely have to see it. There is a lottery at end of the day (around 23:00 +/-), wait and see how lucky you are. AUGUSTUS TEMPLE AND THE FORUM SQUARE IN PULA

The Temple of Augustus is a Roman building, built during the early ages of the Empire. Its decoration reflects the Late Hellenistic influence. Today you can find on the Forum Square, City  Hall, Turist Board and lots of restaurants and bars. LIGHTHOUSE SAVUDRIJA BUILT IN 1818 AND STILL TWINKLE

ISTRIADUCTION  All Year | No Working time | Free Entrance According to the legend, it was built by order of the Austrian count Metternich, who fell in love with a girl from Savudrija and wanted to build a love nest there. The Lighthouse of Savudrija was built in 1818. It is the oldest Lighthouse on Adriatic sea, which is still in use. Total height 36m. Build by arhitect Pietra Nobilea in less then a year. In the vicinity of the lighthouse we can find characteristic boat lifts-grues. This is a resourceful way of lifting boats without safe mooring on wooden constructions with the help of rope and pulley. BEAUTIFULL SMALL VILLAGE CALLED GOLOGORICA NEAR PAZIN

Once you enter the village you will see in front of you the Parish Church of St. Peter and Paul from the 17th century. Standing on the square, in front of the Parish Church, on your left side you will note the most interesting building in Gologorica. This was the house of De Franceschi family and was built in 1711.On the hilltop going back from main gate, on the left side you will also see the smaller Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary dating back to the Romanesque period. CRVENI OTOK (Red Island) – SVETI ANDRIJA ( St. Andrew) NEAR ROVINJ

In the 1891st the family Hutterott bought the Red island, turned the monastery into a family mansion and reorganized the Red island into a park that was planted with various plants from all over the world. Currently on the island there are over 180 different species of plants. In this period Red island was a favourite destination of tourists from the Austro-Hungarian empire. MUSSELS MADE IN PERUŠKI – POPULAR SHELLFISH FOR COUNTLESS TASTY DISHES

ISTRIADUCTION Mussels are popular shellfish, accessible, edible, and suitable for countless tasty dishes. How to choose great mussels?....shells must not be chipped, broken or damage. Fresh mussels tend to be tightly open or closed. If mussels are still open after you tap it they are dead. Throw it away! Tip: It should be eaten on the day of purchase. How to prepare it?....To clean mussels, scrub in plenty of cold water to remove barnacles or sand. Discard any that float to the top. Remove a fibrous clump of hairs that sprouts from the shell - by giving it a sharp tug towards the hinge end of the mussel. Place cleaned mussels in a fresh bowl of cold water until ready to use. Change this water two or three times to remove any salt or sand that the mussels may expel.  How to cook it?...it is very easy and simple to cook. Mostly time it is lost on preparation.
