Sein Markenzeichen ist die Arena, in der die Filmvorführungen unter dem Sternenhimmel stattfinden. Heute ist es die meistbesuchte Kulturveranstaltung in der Republik Kroatien. Über 73.000 Besucher besuchen die zahlreichen Festivalveranstaltungen. Das Festivalprogramm findet an verschiedenen Orten der Stadt statt und lockt zahlreiche Besucher an. Das Wettbewerbsprogramm umfasst kroatische Filme, sowohl Spielfilme als auch Kurzfilme, die in der Regel auf dem Festival Premiere haben, sowie internationale Programme, Kinderprogramme, Jugendprogramme, Retrospektivprogramme und die Kinemathek von Pula. ARENA PULA – DAS RÖMISCHE AMPHITHEATER

ISTRIADUCTION  All Year | Working time: 8:00 — 21:00 h| Pay per Entrance (For locals Free) Wir wollten das einzigartige römische Denkmal Arena besichtigen. Wir haben uns angeschaut, wovon der Stein und die Architektur antiker römischer Gebäude sprechen. Am Eingang bemerkten wir, dass wir den Eintritt bezahlen müssen. Wir mussten die elliptische Dimension sehen, wobei die längere Achse etwa 130 m und die kürzere etwa 100 m misst. Der Ort, an dem die Gladiatoren kämpften und die Tribünen mit 20.000 Menschen gefüllt waren. Nach mehreren Fotos des Amphitheaters mit seinen riesigen Fenstern gingen wir zu den unterirdischen Tunneln, wo eine Ausstellung römischer Gegenstände und die Art und Weise der Wein- und Olivenverarbeitung ausgestellt wurden. Tipps: In den Sommermonaten finden in der Arena Gladiatorenkämpfe im Rahmen des historischen und unterhaltsamen Spektakels „Spectacvla Antiqva“ statt. TAVERN TAJ IN THE CITY OF PULA

ISTRIADUCTION  All Year | Working time: 11-01h | Free Entrance The tavern Taj has the domestic ambient and it is on the nice location. Tavern offers inside place by the fireplace or outside in the shade of huge terrace. We took place on the terrace to catch some summer breeze. First of all, there you can eat prosciutto, Istrian cheese, and olives with olive oil. But this time we ordered "maneštra" traditional a vegetable stew from Istria and made with spring corn. Except that there you can eat fish or "calamari" and other fish dishes. The staff are really friendly and everything is on the net level. Inside the tavern, you can see traditional items and stone architecture of old house with the fireplace. Tips: There you can eat raost or lamb under the baking lid and it is delicious. SPECTACVLA ANTIQVA GLADIATORS IN ARENA PULA

ISTRIADUCTION June - September | Working time: 20h | Pay per entrance Spectacvla Antiqva is the name of the project that takes place in Pula’s amphitheater once a week. In the evening hours, we have been in the Arena to see gladiator fights. We had a privilege to see ancient Roman soldiers,  citizens, clothing, and hairstyles. First, we made a couple of photos of the old Roman soldier at the entrance of Arena then we proceed to the stone seat :).  In the beginning, the narrator explains everything about the program and gladiators on English and it is easy to catch all the facts. After showing old Roman customs, habits, for example, selling women, the show continues with gladiators. The gladiators were usually criminals, war prisoners and slaves trained for fights and we have enjoyed gladiator fights with real weapons. At the end of the fight, the crowd can decide if the gladiator is going to be killed or get mercy. The last decision is on the emperor and he will decide the end of the fight with thumbs up or down. The last shouts will be of Mitte! (Let him go!) or Iugula! (Kill him!) it was fun. It was very interesting after the show because

RAILWAY STATION – PULA

ISTRIADUCTION  All Year | Working time: as per schedule | Ticket Railway station Pula build in 1876 was under the authority of Austria, Italy and Slovenia until 1991. when they are under the Croatia Railway. It was connected with local shipyard Uljanik in 1878., 1,3 km of railway. The traffic was significantly increase and in 1884. it was transported over 34t of cargo. Railway was very good connected with Trieste and Vienna. There was also a „green train“ to Slovenia. In 1904. Pula Railway Station was connected with city center with tram. It was built with new materials, iron and glass. Its original function has been retained. Following the erection of the Pula Arsenal in the mid 19th century, a fast and numerous construction of various structures began. The Pula market was erected at the time, a true construction miracle and one of the most beautiful examples of the Secession. Located in the centre of Pula, the erection of the indoor part of the market began in 1902. It was officially opened on 18 October 1903. Modern materials such as iron and glass were used for the first time in the construction of the Pula market. The walls of this unique Secession structure consist of almost exclusively semi-circular constructive iron bearers manufactured in the Witkovice Ironworks, and glass surfaces, naturally. The ground- and first floor premises were spacious and functional. The fishmonger's was on one side of its ground floor, while the ice-storage was placed on the other.
