Due to frequent epidemics of malaria and plague, the Dvigrad was abandoned. The church in Kanfanar, nearby village, still keeps the pulpit from St. Sophia Church in Dvigrad, with a relief depicting St. Sophia two towns in her hand. The remains of Dvigrad were attractive to popular actor Jackie Chan who shot there attractive action scenes for movie “God’s Armor”. Explore and testify to the fall of the one-time important Istrian town.
